Almost a week ago, I was sitting around one afternoon when I decided on a whim to create another music video for one of my songs. I really enjoyed making La lumière et l’ombre, having recreated the story of the song in a video form, but I was at a loss for ideas for any of my other songs.
A few months ago, I put my song “Always Were” on iTunes, a song that I wrote not long after I finished Welcome to the Aquarium. I decided why not try to do a video for that song since it’s available for purchase? So after doing some hard research on the Internet Archive, I pulled a couple of public domain videos of outer space and put them together in iMovie in time to the song.
So even though it’s not a traditional music video that shows me lip-syncing the song or even acting out the song as with my first video, it at least has something to do with the lyrics, or at least the extended metaphor of the song.
So make sure to head over to the video page and take a look! I’m pretty proud of it. :)
Speaking of videos: Last Saturday evening, I performed a live concert from my living room on Ustream, broadcasted live and even recorded for playback later. This time, I had a really cool mixer that ran into the computer and thus made the sound far better than the last time I played live.
Let me tell you that I had such a wonderful time!! I was even more ecstatic to see people dropping in to watch who knew my songs! One fan in particular even asked for my song “Your Cloud” because it’s his/her favorite!! I absolutely couldn’t believe it, and I’m still excited! To know that my music is indeed touching people the way I hoped…. it really makes me smile inside. It’s why I do this. :D
Since this is going to be a regular thing, I will be on Ustream on Saturday, September 4th at 4 PM US EST for another show. If you use Facebook a lot too, you can watch me live in their StreamJam app at that time as well! :) I will probably have a brand new song or two by then, so definitely come by and listen!!
Until then, see you out on the interwebs!
